[Also in Division A4] A dental cabinet includes a substantially horizontal counter extending throughout its length, the front edge of the cabinet being of stepped formation, in plan, to form two or more counter work-portions so that, when the cabinet is positioned centrally behind a patient-operating chain, the counter work-portions are conveniently placed for the dentist and his assistant sitting on opposite sides of the operating chair. The cabinet includes an upper, compartmented portion 20, housing trays of hand-tools, which can be removed. and laid on the counter when required for use, and a lower portion 22, below the counter, which houses bulky equipment such as gascylinders and drill-motors. Part of the vertical wall of the counter may include a drawer 61 having a front 62 which drops down to expose dental handpieces retractably mounted therein. In a modification (Fig. 9, not shown) additional wing-cabinets, each with its own counter, may be assembled at an oblique angle to the ends of the main cabinet forming a shallow U-shape in plan. These cabinets may house additional sink-units.
