Abstract

1,240,145. Dialysis apparatus. MEDIZINTECHNIK LEIPZIG VEB. 3 July, 1968, No. 31694/68. Heading B1X. A dialyzer, for example a haemodialyzer, comprising a dialysis tube mounted by means of guide members in a dialysis case is provided with two or more adjusting devices which are adjustable independently of one another and which are capable of acting on the guide members in a manner such that the guide members may exert pressure on and thereby compress the dialysis tube to any predetermined degree. As illustrated in Figure 1, a dialysis tube comprises a dialysis case 1 in which a dialysis tube 2 is laid in serpentine manner and is retained in position by centre guide members 3, side guide members 4, a first end guide member 5 and a second end guide member 6. The ends of the dialysis tube are provided with a blood inlet connection 7 and a blood outlet connection 8, which connections are adapted for connection respectively to an artery of a patient by a tube 11 and a cannula 10 and to a vein of the @ @ by a tube 13 and a cannula 12. Provided at the end 16 of the dialysis case to protrude from an end wall thereof are adjusting devices 14 and 15 which are capable of exerting pressure on the second end guide member in a direction towards the first end guide member and the opposite end 19 of the dialysis case thereby to compress the dialysis tube. Constructional details of the adjusting devices, each of which comprises a rotatable operating member 18 which permits independent adjustment of each device from the exterior of the dialysis case, are illustrated in Figure 2 (not shown).
