In a board game involving imaginary financial transactions, the board 1 consists of a closed path defined by spaces 6 around the periphery thereof, each space bearing markings representing one of two or more component games in which different types of imaginary financial transactions are made with players, the spaces representative of a given component game being distributed around the path among the other spaces, and counters for individual players which counters, in playing the game, advance in turn around the path by moves comprising a number of spaces as determined by a random number selector, the rules of the game providing that the space, corresponding to one of said component games, which a players' counter reaches at the end of any one move determines the nature of the financial transaction, to be made with said player, at least one of the component games being a gambling game. The component in addition to the gambling game represented by the alternating crosshatched spaces can be a capital investment game, marked C, and a horse racing game R. Spaces are also provided on the path for instructions to take a card from a pack placed at 10. The area 8 is associated with the gambling game.
