Abstract
1,239,598. Supply systems for consuming devices; rectifying. MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC INDUSTRIAL CO. Ltd. 22 Oct., 1968 [26 Oct., 1967], No. 50169/68. Headings H2F and H2H. Supply unit, for providing an A.C. voltage with a variable D.C. voltage superposed on it, comprises an A.C. source 10, an amplifier 20 and an output transformer 21. Terminals a and e on the transformer are connected through capacitors 30, 40 respectively to a load 70 which may be an image display device. The capacitors 30, 40 are connected through rectifiers 91, 92 with a common arm 100 which may be connected to any one of a plurality of intermediate terminals on the transformer or may be continuously slidable. The polarity of the D.C. output depends on whether the common arm 100 is connected nearer to terminal a or to terminal e. The connections at a and e may also be slidable to allow variation the A.C. output. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the A.C. source and amplifier are replaced by a D.C. source and a transistor oscillator, and a capacitor is connected across the load 70.
