[Also in Division F3] A release mechanism for a detachable gun assembly for aircraft comprises a crank 268 which when moved anticlockwise, either by a manually operated lever 282 or by a pistoncylinder hydraulic or pneumatic attachment 284, removes the pins 209, 210 from the pod lug projections 212, 214 and thereby releasing the pod, on which a turret and gun are mounted, from the aircraft.
