Abstract

1,238,668. Photographic objectives. NIPPON KOGAKU K. K. Sept. 17, 1968 [Sept. 23, 1967], No.44162/68. Heading G2J. An objective of the retrofocus type if corrected for an object at infinity has a large increase in aberration when focussing on a near surface and accordingly an air space d 11 , Fig. 13, is made variable when the whole objective is moved for focussing. As shown the objective comprises a stationary objective mount 6, and a converging lens group consisting of lenses L 4 to L 9 placed behind a divergent lens group consisting of lenses L 1 L 2 L 3 , the air space d 11 being provided between lenses L 6 and L 7 , the lenses in front of the air space d 11 (L 1 -L 6 ) being mounted in an axially movable lens barrel 1. The lens L 7 L 8 L 9 behind air space d 11 being mounted in a rotatable lens barrel 2, the lens barrels 1, 2 moving synchronously and in the same direction upon rotation of an adjusting ring 4 to vary the air space d 11 . Adjusting ring 4 is threadedly engaged with lens barrel 1 and with a screw thread 5 of the stationary objective mount 6, the lens barrel 1 being further provided with a compensating thread 8 engaged with lens barrel 8 so that upon rotation of adjusting ring 4 lens barrel 1 moves axially and at the same time the second lens barrel 2 rotates around the compensating thread and moves axially in the same direction as lens barrel 1. Three examples of the lens system are given and optical data provided for each.
