[Also in Division C1] Haber synthesis catalysts contain at least 80% Fe or an oxide thereof, at least 1% U oxide/usually UO 2 /and at least 1% of an oxide of Th or a precursor therefor. Additionally the catalyst may contain K and Al 2 O 3 . Preparation is conventional e.g. decomposition of metallic nitrates at 800‹C followed by reduction.
