Abstract
1,236,928. Gain control. PROWEST ELECTRONICS Ltd. 21 June, 1968 [11 Oct., 1967], No. 46494/67. Heading H4R. In a gain control circuit the input signal is applied to the commoned emitters of transistors T4 and T5, the current through T5 being controlled by the setting of potentiometer RV1 to vary the proportion of signal current fed through transistor T5 to the output. The base of transistor T4 is earthed while the base of transistor T5 is provided with D.C. feedback from the collector via R6 but is decoupled relative the signal current by capacitor C2, the D.C. potential across the capacitor C2 being maintained constant by connecting it via an emitter follower T3 to a circuit including transistors T1 and T2 similar to the gain control circuit and subject to the same control potential from RV1, to prevent control signal variations causing spurious signals in the output.
