A filler for an egg box &c. consists of crisscross strips A-H of which one or some, G, as shown, or C and G. Fig. 3 (not shown), restrain the others by having tabs J, L (M, R) entering apertures in the box walls. The restraining member G has downwardly projecting slots engaging upwardly projecting slots in other members, and the member C in the Fig. 3 embodiment has an upwardly projecting slot for engagement by the member G. The strips can be metal or plastics, e.g. polypropylene.
