[Also in Divisions C2 and C5] A dehydrogenation catalyst is prepared by mixing and subsequently heating or washing a phosphorus compound, a tin compound and a group IA or II metal or compound to give a catalyst which contains only the elements phosphorus tin IA or IIA metal and oxygen.
