Abstract
1,236,388. Gas/solid contact. LECTRAMATEC FURNACES Ltd. 11 Nov., 1968 [20 Nov., 1967], No. 52628/67. Headings B1F and B1X. [Also in Divisions Cl, F4 and H5] Powdered material to be treated with a gas is charged into a refractory container 16 with porous ends 18, 20 which is located within a furnace 10 heated by resistance elements 12. The gas is circulated through the powder by convection or by a fan, so that the powder becomes turbulent, and thermocouples 22 allow the temperature within the container 16 to be controlled.
