A cell for electro-chemical determination of hydrogen sulphide in a flowing gas comprises a solid electrolyte 8 made of 50-70 parts by weight of benzoic acid and 50-30 parts of propylene carbonate, electrodes 1, 2 being connected to an external measuring circuit having a resistance of less than 10 kilohm. Both electrodes may be made of silver.
