[Also in Divisions A6 and G5] Information carried on a roll of paper, e.g. teleprinter page paper, is brought to a position in a window 4 when an operator actuates a switch, e.g. a pedal switch 2, the positioning being effected by stop marks on the paper detected by photo-cells; but, in addition, certain items of information have a second stop mark which causes the photo-cells to inhibit further action of the switch, thereby locking the information in the window, until a second switch, e.g. a key-operated switch on a panel 8, is actuated. An inspector is enabled to check the operator's work by this means. A button 7 enables the roll to be reversed to a previous item of information. The roll may be provided in a cassette 3, and its data may be prepared by a teleprinter driven from a punched-tape reader. The punched tape master programme may be the output of a computer. The information may refer to the wiring of an electrical equipment rack.
