Abstract

1,234,238. Inflatable splints. C. H. ASHTON. 21 Dec., 1968, No. 60915/68. Heading A5R. An inflatable splint comprises a number of approximately parallel-sided, intercommunicating, elongated inflatable sections 2 alternating with non-inflatable sections 3 of width similar to that of the inflatable sections. As shown, the splint has an air inlet 4 whereby the splint may be inflated by mouth or by using a squeeze bulb, and the splint tapers slightly towards one end. The inflatable secare of less than 5 cms average width and self-adhering tape 5 is provided for securing the splint about a limb.
