Abstract

1,233,458. Thixotropic compositions comprising maneb. ESSO RESEARCH & ENG. CO. 24 Sept., 1968 [11 Dec., 1967], No. 33371/ 68. Heading A5E. An agricultural composition having a viscosity of 3500 to 50000 cps. at 60‹F. to 120‹F. and finding application in the fungicidal treatment of banana, coffee and olive trees/ plants, contains 35% to 70% of maneb with/ without zineb, 30% to 65% of a conventional hydrocarbon fraction, 0.5% to 10% of a lechintype compound, 0.1% to 1.0% of an emulsifier, and 0.1 to 2.0% of water. The emulsifier may be an alkylated aryl polyether alcohol or a sorbitan monolaurate polyoxyethylene derivative. The compositions may be formulated in simple equipment and stable thixotropic oil dispersions, dilutable with additional hydrocarbon fractions, may be obtained. Optional additives are DDT and a trazine.
