Fine adjustment may be made when the cursor D has been lowered again to re-engage the worm and rack, by rotating a member d<SP>4</SP>. The stops d<SP>5</SP> may be used as work supports or may be drilled to support pillars D<SP>2</SP>, Fig. 4 carrying a height gauge which may co-operate with a scriber. The cursor may be locked in position on the slide by turning a nut c<SP>2</SP> to raise a disc c into engagement with shoulders of the groove a<SP>2</SP>.
