Abstract

123,109. Reynolds, M. P. Oct. 15, 1917. Fixed sieves; sieves and screens, construction of ard mounting. - A vibrating screen for materials of a finely divided nature is provided with a vibrating bar parallel with one end thereof for imparting vibrations the screen substantially in the plane of the screen cloth. The frame 10 carrying the cloth 15 is fitted parallel to the end 11 with a resilient vibrator bar 22 which is provided with two adjustable impact screws 23 adapted to hammer upon the screen frame, the vibrations of the bar 22 being caused by the action of an alternating-current electro-magnet 25, 26 upon an armature 29 on a yoke 28. The frame is provided with longitudinal bars 30 and transverse angle-irons 31, and the cloth is fixed to the end member 11 by a clamping-strip and screws. At its lower end. the cloth is clamped by a strip 17 and screws 18 to a bar 16 which is adjusted for tensioning the cloth by screws 19 bearing against the frame member 11<a> and fitted with lock-nuts 20. As shown in Fig. 1, a coarse screen 37 and a finer screen 38 are mounted in a casing having a door 53 and a hinged cover 36, and the material is fed from a box having a spiral conveyer 45 and an inclined board 41 which is vibrated by'a resilient bar and electro-magnet 48 arranged below it. A second board 42 directs the material on to the upper screen, and an adjustable gate 49 controls the feed.
