Abstract
1,228,978. Polypropylene moulding composition. BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK A.G. 30 Aug., 1968 [2 Sept., 1967], No. 41448/68. Heading C3P. A composition suitable for use as a moulding material comprising (a) 100 parts of polypropylene, (b) 0À1 to 60 parts of a fluoride of Zn, Cd, Sn(II), Pb(II), Ti(III), V(III), Cr(III), Mn(IV), Cu(I), Cu(II), Ag(I), Au(I), Hg(II), Ge(IV), Al(III), Zr(IV), Hf(IV), Th(III), Nb(III), Ta(III), Mo(V), W(IV), U(III), Cr(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Os(V), Mg, Ca, Sr, or Ba, (c) 2 to 20% (with reference to the whole composition) of a butadiene polymer. The composition may be obtained by conventional techniques using e.g. a screw extruder. A wide variety of salts are contemplated, the examples relating to ZnF 2 and ZnMnF 6 . Butadiene polymers specified include homopolymers and copolymers with isoprene, styrene, α-methyl and p-isopropylstyrene, the 1,2 - vinyl - and 1,4 - cis - percentages being given for many of the polymers.
