Abstract

1,227,690. Control of stepping motors. OPYTNO - KONSTRUKTORSKOE BJURO VSESOJUZNOGO NAUCHNO - ISSLEDOVATELSKOGO INSTITUTA KRIOGENNOGO MASCHINOSTROENIA. 24 Nov., 1969, No. 57414/69. Heading H2J. An incremental movement of an electric motor is performed by increasing the current in one winding in a stepped manner, while reducing a second winding-current in a like manner, the third winding being de-energized during the incremental period. Further increments of movement are obtained by commutating the windings. The phase windings 4, 5, 6, are connected to digital-to-analogue converters 1, 2, 3 associated with a memory unit comprising reversible binary counters 7, 8, 9, having, a control unit 13. The reversible counters comprise multistable elements, each forming one place for all the counters, the number of stable states of each element being equal to the number of motor-phases. All the elements form a single unit whose like digital outputs are combined into groups, each connected to a corresponding coverter, Fig. 3 (not shown). Commutation of the phase windings is effected by a ring register employing AND and OR gates whereby the count in one counter is increased, that in another is decreased, while a third is blocked, Fig. 4 (not shown).
