Abstract

1,227,229. Dyeing polyester materials. YORKSHIRE DYEWARE & CHEMICAL CO. Ltd. 2 Sept., 1969 [13 Sept., 1968], No. 43568/68. Heading D1B. Synthetic polyester materials are dyed or printed with monoazo dyes of formula I: in which R<SP>1</SP> is bromine or chlorine or an alkyl, alkoxy, hydroxyl or cyano group, R<SP>2</SP> is hydrogen or an alkyl group and the rings A and B may be further substituted by one or more non-ionic substituents. The dyes give red shades and may be applied by using a boiling water bath containing a carrier or at 125- 140‹C in a pressurised vessel or by padding followed by drying and heating at 190-220‹C. When printing the dye is applied with a thickener, dried and then steamed or heated. Dispersing agents may be used.
