Abstract
1,226,610. Electro-chemical analysis. NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORP. July 3, 1969 [July 18, 1968], No. 34237/68. Heading G1N. An electro-chemical cell has a membrane electrode as disclosed in Specification 1, 200, 595, separated from the sample liquid by a further non- porous gas permeable membrane which has a large liquid contact area relative to the effective area of the electrode. As shown Figs. 1 and 2, electrolyte 2anddialysis membrane 6 contact metallic layer 8 of membrane electrode 7 which communicates through elongated filter 11 with gas-permeable membrane 13 (e. g. of P. T. F. E.) at the bottom of sample liquid container 12. Modifications: - Fig. 3 (not shown) provides for a flowing sample to pass through container 12. Fig. 4 (not shown) illustrates an alternative construction with a more rapid response. Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown) illustrate miniature cells with cylindrical membranes arranged in a catheter tube.
