A fibre-resin article is built up on a mould by a feed apparatus comprising a device for impregnating and dispensing a fibre-resin band and laying means mounted upon said device, which means includes a roller by which the dispensed band is pressed on to the mould. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 1, a band impregnating and depressing device (such as that set forth in copending Specification 1,178,388) is mounted upon a structure 4 mounted upon wheels 6 movable along rails 7 of a traversing frame itself movable along fixed rails. The structure carries extendable pivotable arms 13 at the end of which are carried pressure rollers 12 adapted to press successive layers of the band 11 upon the flat surface of a mould 10. If desired the mould surface may be undulated to give a corrugated article and the rollers profiled accordingly. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 4 (not shown) for the production of a boat hull, the impregnating and depressing device is carried by structure movable as in the above embodiment but which is additionally movable in direction at right angles to the plane of the open area of the mould. In operation bands are laid along one side of the mould, the feed apparatus then reversed and the other side of the mould covered. The rollers may be pivotally carried by the arms 13 or may be resilient in order to accommodate themselves to the contours of the mould, In particular the rollers may be inflated with a pressure fluid.
