122,633. Johnsen, O. A. Jan. 24, 1918, [Convention date]. Water-waste preventers, cisterns for. - The cistern is divided into large and small compartments 1, 2 by a partition 3. The float 5<1> is located in the small compartment 2 and the supply cock 4 and outlet 10 in the large compartment 1. A siphon 7, 8 connects the two compartments 1, 2, the leg 7 having an opening 9 and being of 'smaller cross-sectional area than the leg 8. On flushing, the water sinks in compartment 2 along with that in compartment 1 till the level of the opening 9 is reached, when the cock 4 becomes fully open, and remains so till the compartment 1 is full and overflows into compartment 2, raising the float 5<1> quickly. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes a modification in which the outlet 10 is arranged close to the partition 3, and a second partition located close to the outlet 10, separating it from the compartment 1. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
