[Also in Division C5] Mono- and/or di-aluminium-magnesium mixed metal soaps are prepared by reacting an aqueous solution of alum and MgSO 4 to an aqueous solution of the sodium salts of synthetic fatty acids of C 5-6 , C 7-9 , C 10-16 or C 17-20 fatty acids or fatty acids of C 17-18 , and precipitating the soaps at 40-50‹ C.
