Abstract

1,224,645. Lining sacks. BRITISH VISQUEEN Ltd. 9 May, 1969 [24 May, 1968], No. 24937/68. Heading B5D. A liner, which may be of polythene, is fixed inside a sack of natural fibres or of polypropylene tapes by drawing the liner on to a shoe 1, holding the liner thereon by a vacuum applied via holes 7 and vacuum means 14, 15, drawing the sack over the liner and to within 6 inches of the liner mouth, expanding an end portion 2 of the shoe by a pair of pneumatic rams 10 acting on a movable part 4 of the portion 2, rotating the shoe and spraying glue from a nozzle 16 on to the edge of the liner whilst the shoe is rotating, retracting the part 4 and drawing the sack up over the glued portion of the liner and finally expanding the part 4 again to press the liner and sack together and finally withdrawing the lined sack from the shoe.
