Abstract

1,224,367. Purifying esters. CHEMIEKOMBINAT BITTERFELD VEB. 26 Aug., 1968, No. 40630/68. Heading C2C. [Also in Division C5] Esters are purified by contacting them in liquid form or dissolved in a solvent at 5-300‹ C. with a crystalline metal aluminosilicate zeolite having uniform pores of diameter between 3 and 15Š to absorb the impurities. In Example 1, butyl esters with a chain length C 10 -C 26 are passed upwardly through a column of NaX molecular sieve.
