Abstract

1,224,235. Lysozyme salts. SPA-SOC. PRODOTTI ANTIBIOTICI S.p.A. 22 July, 1969 [23 July, 1968], No. 35029/68. Heading C3H. [Also in Division C2] Novel salts of lysozyme or a basic lysozyme derivative and an acidic penicillin are prepared by reacting the lysozyme compound or a salt thereof with the penicillin or its salt respectively in aqueous solution. Basic lysozyme derivatives may be methyl lysozyme, guandinyl lysozyme, methylguanidyl lysozyme or an alkylamidino-lysozyme, and the lysozyme salt may be the hydrochloride. Suitable acidic penicillins are penicillins V and G, ampicillin, phenethecillin, propicillin, methicillin, oxacillin, cloxacillin, ancillin, quinacillin, carbenicillin, nafcillin, netacillin and betacin; the salt used may be the sodium penicillinate.
