The draw bar 1, pivotally connected to a combine harvester at pivot 3 and to a tractor hitch bar, is movable between two positions, a transport position (Fig. 1, solid lines) and an operating position (broken lines), in each of which position the draw bar is held by a spring-loaded catch and the catches being interconnected such that movement of one to an operating position is accompanied by movement of the other to an inoperative position. The draw bar is slidable on rail 23 beneath a plate 25 which forms part of the frame 2 of the combine harvester, its lateral movement being limited by abutments 4 and 5, the positions of which are adjustable in the direction of travel by means of screws 20 which engage slots in the frame 2. A two armed lever 6 is pivotable about a horizontal pin 7 and can rotate to positions in which one or other of the arms 6<SP>1</SP> extends into the path of the draw bar. In lever 6 a centrally mounted lug 9 has attached through the hole 10 the lower cranked end of a rod 11. A lever 12 pivotable about a pin 13 aligned with pin 7 guides rod 11 which engages a hole 14 in the cranked end of the lever. Pivoting movement of the lever 12 is limited by abutments 15 and 16 provided on the frame 2. A compression spring 17 located on rod 11 presses against an abutment on the rod and against the lever 12, the consequent pressure on lug 9 causing one or other of the arms 6<SP>1</SP> of lever 6 to pivot downwards to a position where it acts as a draw bar stop depending upon whether lever 12 is set against abutment 15 or 16. The draw bar can thus be locked in one of two positions. The lever 12 is positioned such that a pull on it by an attached rope or chain extending through an eye 19 on the draw bar to the tractor causes the lever 6 to move from one position to the other, thereby releasing the draw bar which can then be swung by suitable steering of the tractor into the alternate position. Free play of the draw bar in its locked positions is limited by adjustment of the abutments 4 and 5, and of the heights of rail 23 by means of eccentric screws 24.
