Abstract

Metallic colouring powder is conveyed in proportioned amounts to an atomizing nozzle 3 e.g. for electrostatic spraying, through holes 7 in the floor 5 of a container 4, and pipelines 8. A rotating perforated disc 6 sequentially covers and exposes the holes. Compressed air is only used within the nozzle. Excess powder is collected on a sheet 10 and returned to the container through a line 14. Alternatively the powder can be transported to the nozzle by purely mechanical means, such as a worm.
