1,219,955. Copolymers of N-vinyl pyrrolidone and tin salts, HENKEL & CIE G.m.b.H. 23 Oct., 1968 [24 Oct., 1967], No. 50396/68. Heading C3P. [Also in Divisions A5 and B2] A polymer which is probably a copolymer of a trialkyltin salt of an unsaturated organic acid, salt or ester thereof, and N-vinyl pyrrolidone is obtained by forming the salt in situ from a trialkyl tin compound and the acid or derivative and copolymerizing in the presence of a catalyst in an aqueous-alcoholic medium at 20‹ to 120‹ C. In examples, bis-(tributyl tin) oxide is reacted with (meth)acrylic acid or maleic acid and N- vinyl pyrrolidone in the presence of azobisisobutyronitrile.
