Abstract
1,218,625. Pressing surfaces. DEFIBRATOR A.B. 14 June, 1968 [19 June, 1967], No. 28350/68. Heading B5A. [Also in Division D2] In the manufacture of boards of fibrous and/or plastics material using hot presses with glazing plates, the glazing plate carries, on the face which contacts the material to be pressed, a film which is detachably connected to this face by adhesive means. The film and the adhesive must be capable of withstanding the temperatures used in the pressing operation, and the binding power of the adhesive must be sufficient to hold the film in position without preventing removal for replacement. The film may be of plastics, paper or metal, but preferably is aluminium-coated paper. When the film is to be replaced it may be peeled off, and another put on, preferably by laying the new film, with an adhesive-coated face towards the glazing plate, on the material to be pressed, and actuating the press.
