Abstract

1,218,614. Plastic ski surface. HOLLEY PLASTICS CO. 26 March, 1968, No. 14428/ 68. Heading A6D. An artificial surface for skiing or the like comprises a sloping surface and a covering layer of finely divided plastic particles maintained on the slope by intermingling with grass, straw or the like on the slope or by contact with the slope which has been treated such as by disking or other such surface roughening treatment to prevent rapid sliding down of the particles. The covering may be made up of a lower portion of substantially flat flakes and an upper portion of rounded plastic pellets, and may further include a top layer of ice or a coating of finely divided plastic for making the plastic slippery.
