[Also in Divisions C2, C7 and E1] A process for preventing scale deposition from water containing scale-forming agents such as BaSo 4 , CaSo 4 , CaCo 3 and mixtures thereof, comprises adding to said water an effective inhibiting amount of a polyphosphate ester or mixture of polyphosphate esters obtained by reacting an hydroxy amine with polyphosphoric acid and/or phosphorus pentoxide (see Division C2).
