Abstract

1,217,850. Bolt anchorage device. P. A. LAWTON. 1 Jan., 1969 [19 Dec., 1967], No. 57633/67. Heading F2H. A bolt or stud anchorage device comprises a cylindrical sleeve 1 formed from a flat blank and slit at its inner end, a conical nut 2 inserted in the inner end of the sleeve and supported by fingers 11 having bent over ends 12, and anti-rotation means 8 on the sleeve. In the preferred embodiment one slit 4 extends the full length of the sleeve and a plurality of shorter slits 5, preferably three, extend approximately halfway along terminating in apertures 6, slit 4 being provided with a corresponding aperture 7. Fingers 11 co-operate with slots 13 (Fig. 2) in the nut to prevent it rotating. A bush 14 may be provided at the outer end of the sleeve and comprises a washer like part 16 (Fig. 3) and a part of reduced diameter 15 which fits in the sleeve, the part 15 having an annular groove into which projections 17 on the sleeve fit to retain the bush. The sleeve is formed as a flat blank (Fig. 5) which is then rolled into a cylinder and may have projections 19 and its surface machine roughened e.g. serrated or milled to increase its grip with the wall of a hole.
