Abstract
1,217,712. Bowling tracks. A. A. PHILPOT. 22 May, 1969 [29 May, 1968], No. 25670/68. Heading A6D. A bowling track 10, comprises a concave surface 11, of parabolic cross section, directed upwardly and made or lined with plastics or suitable smooth material, and surrounded by a rim 12. A series of pins 13 secured to the surface by magnets, rubber cups or suction pads forms the target. A hole 16 is formed in the bottom of the surface whereby the bowls may be returned to the bowler by way of a track 17. Further targets 15 are arranged on the concave surface. In a second embodiment the rink is of parabolic cross section but tapers from one end to the other, the target being positioned adjacent the bowling point. In a third embodiment the rink 15 of constant cross section and the longitudinal axis is inclined at an angle to the horizontal.
