A device for turning a plough whose headstock 1 and forward part of pivoting section 2 which bears the plough shares are shown, comprises two pull and lift rods 11 connected to a tractor three-point coupling system together with a top thrust connecting rod 13 which is articulated on a lever 15 which is pivoted in the upper part of a pillar 17 and has a fork 21 between whose prongs the top part of a turn control rod 22 can slide, the bottom part 23 of which is articulated on a crank pin 62, a spring 25 connecting the two parts. When the plough is in a working position the control rod 22 is hooked by its notch 32 to the cross-bar 33 of fork 21, the spring 36 contributing to holding the rod 22 in this position. When the plough has to be turned, bars 11 and 13 are made to pivot in the direction of the arrow f1 by means of the three-point coupling system, and under the weight of the plough lever 15 pivots to the position shown in Fig. 4 (not shown), the spring 25 being extended to its maximum. The locking system which consists of a bolt 38 engaged in a boss 41, Fig. 2 (not shown), is released, so that under the weight of the plough and the action of the connecting spring 25 the pivoting section 2 rotates about the spindle in the sleeve 4. During the first quarter turn, crank pin 62 rises to the top of its path, spring 25 relaxes and notch 32 and the cross-bar 33 of fork 21 become disengaged. Then during the second quarter turn, crank pin 24 and control rod 22 come down again on the other side until the pin stop 29 comes to rest on the fork 21, while the bottom part 23 and crank pin 62 continue to descend until the locking bolt 38 engages the boss 42, the spring 25 expanding and absorbing the shock at the end of the ploughs pivotal movement. All the parts are now in the positions shown in Fig. 5. The three-point system is lowered, lever 15 pivots thus enabling part 22 to rise until the fork 21 engages the notch 32, spring 36 pushing the crank pin 62 towards the rear and lever 15 comes up against the screw 8 as in Fig. 1.
