Electrical systems, automatic. - The track relay in an alternating current signalling system has one of its actuating windings connected to a source of energy and the other connected to the track rails and one winding is shunted, either directly or indirectly, by a condensance to cause a displacement of phase of the magnetic flux due to this winding. Fig. 1 shows a system in which the coils 8 on the cores 6 are supplied from the mains P through the transformer A'. The coil 9 on the core 7 is supplied through the track rails T and impedance coil 3 from transformer A and the mains P. A coil 10 on the core 7 is connected to a condenser 11. Bv this arrangement, a smaller condenser is possible, the circuit being equivalent to a larger condenser in parallel to the coil 9. The relay armature 12 is connected to the spindle on which is fitted an electrically-conductive non-magnetic plate 4 which moves in the gaps of the cores 6, 7.
