Abstract

1,215,835. Measuring temperature electrically. BRITISH LAUNDERERS' RESEARCH ASSOCIATION April 2, 1969 [April 24, 1968], No. 19297/68. Heading G1N. The heating coils of a drying apparatus are switched off at a preset time after the temperature, sensed by thermistors, reaches a predetermined value. As applied to the drying of fabrics, a press comprises two platens 1, 2 Fig. 1 which can be closed together onto the fabric and incorporate heating elements 6, 5 and thermistors 8, 14. The latter are connected in circuitry to set a timing device at a predetermined temperature, so that after a preset interval compressed air forces a ram 13 to open the platens. The temperatures on the surfaces of the platens are measured by thermistors 17, 18.
