An interlining material consisting of cellulose for use in collars and cuffs is formed from at least two different fibre components, a higher swelling component consisting of regenerated cellulose and having a regain of at least 8% by weight at 20‹C.; 65% relative humidity and a lower swelling component consisting of natural cellulose and having a regain of less than 8% by weight under the same conditions; the material has a shrinkage maximum of 3% and is treated to impart a good crease resistance by cross-linking of the fibre components in the wet swollen state which also imparts non iron properties to the material. With woven fabrics one component may be in the warp and the other in the weft, or with knitted fabrics different loop systems may be used. Alternatively the material may contain alternate narrow parallel zones of high and low swelling fibre.
