Abstract

1,213,741. Oven cleaning compositions. UNILEVER Ltd. 1 March, 1968 [1 March, 1967], No. 10000/68. Heading B1E. An oven cleaning composition comprises a surface active agent and art oxidation catalyst dispersed in a liquid carrier, such that when the composition is applied to a baked-on-fat deposit, oxidation occurs within 3 hours at 315‹C. or below. The oxidation catalyst may be a metal acetyl acetonate, a hepcalite catalyst having the approximate composition 50% MuO 2 , 30% CuO, 15% Co 2 O 3 and 5% Ag 2 O; Na 2 CO 3 , Co 3 O 4 , MuO 2 , a platinum metal or a compound of a platinum metal. Additionally the catalyst may be promoted by KOH, Na 2 Co 3 , sucrose or MuO 2 . In examples the oven cleaning compositions are applied to soiled cooking surfaces as a paste or gel.
