[Also in Division B2] In a froth flotation process for recovering cassiterite from an aqueous arc pulp carried out under alkaline conditions in the presence of a substituted oxazoline of formula wherein R 1 represents a methyl, ethyl, or CH 2 OH group, R 2 is CH 2 OH, and R 3 represents a C 11-17 saturated or unsaturated chain hydrocarbon group, pyrrhotite and magnetite may be removed initially in a wet magnetic separator.
