Abstract
1,211,683. Valves. TRIANGLE VALVE CO. Ltd. 14 Dec., 1967 [27 Oct., 1966], No. 48233/66. Heading F2V. A valve comprises a housing 14 having a bore into which a shaft or spindle 10 with a fixed collar 12 project, a circumferential groove in the bore and/or collar, and locking means 25 coacting between the housing and the collar by engagement in the groove or grooves to locate the shaft in the bore against axial displacing forces while allowing the shaft to rotate. The locking means may be a stainless steel circlip engaging grooves in the bore and collar, as shown, or overlying a stepped portion of the collar. Alternatively, stainless steel retaining pins may be positioned radially or transversely over the collar and be located in the bore by stainless steel rings. In further embodiments the spindle is located by a radial bolt in the collar or housing engaging a groove in the other part. Washers of anti-friction material, of P.T.F.E. and of asbestos are positioned above the collar and the rotation of the spindle which may operate a ball valve is limited by a stop 20.
