1,211,241. Bearings. DURKOPPWERKE G.m.b.H. 24 Oct., 1967 [27 Oct., 1966], No. 48253/67. Heading F2A. A needle bearing cage comprises rings 1, 1<SP>1</SP> connected by bridge pieces 2 to form pockets, each bridge piece having sections 4, 4<SP>1</SP>, 5 lying outside and inside the pitch circle and connected by oblique sections 6, 6<SP>1</SP>, the sections 4 of one bar having projecting axial edges K diagonally opposite to projecting axial edge K on a section 5 of an adjacent bar, the roller contacting points R on the oblique sections. Each outer section 14 has inner edges K projecting on one side of each bridge-piece, and each section 5 has outer edges K projecting on the other side. The oblique portions 6 have side faces which have an area tangential to the needle and containing the roller contacting points R and a remaining area parallel to a plane through the bearing axis. Alternatively the areas containing points R are curved.
