1,208,725. Stopping in predetermined positions. PLESSEY CO. Ltd. 8 Nov., 1967 [8 Nov., 1966 (2)], Nos. 51212/67 and 50074/66. Divided out of 1,208,724. Headings F2L and F2U. [Also in Division H3] Adjustable stop and abutment means are provided for giving a spindle a predetermined range of angular movement and/or providing predetermined stop positions. As shown, a knob 5 is fast on a spindle 9 and has facial dogs 3 engageable with peripheral teeth of two stoprings 1 which each have a radially extending lug 2 and are each retained in a desired angular position relative to the spindle. A fixed stop member 17a co-operates with the lugs 2 to limit the angle through which the spindle may be rotated. In a modification the knob has an integral abutment and the stop member 17a can be secured in a desired angular position to a fixed support so that the spindle is stopped in a desired position. In another embodiment the stop and abutment means may be as described in Specification 1,208,724.
