A conductive shoe has a conductive outsole 1, an insulating insole 3 and a plurality of conducting members 2 extending through the insole 3. Each member 2 consists of a hollow or solid cylindrical part 2a, a flange f and a base plate b and may be made from metal e.g. aluminium. The electrical resistance of the shoe can be selected by the appropriate choice of materials for the outsole 1 and members 2, the number of members 2 and the area of the base plate b.
