Abstract

1,205,518. Silicone-treated textile material. HAKUYOSHA CO. Ltd. and T. CHITANI. 14 Sept., 1968, No. 43848/68. Heading D1P. Textile material which has been impregnated with an uncured silicone resin is subjected to ionizing radiation in the presence of air at a temperature of at least 30‹C. The total dosage is 10<SP>4</SP>-10<SP>7</SP> rad. The radiation may be effected by γ-, X-, electron, proton, or neutron rays. The textile material may be of cotton, wool, silk, rayon, acetate, polyethylene, polpropylene, polyvinylchloride, nylon, or polyacrylurea. The silicone may be employed in water or acetone; and the irradiation may be effected in the presence thereof. The material may have been dyed with a metal-containing dyestuff. It may also be impregnated with a non-silicone resin. It may be further heated after irradiation.
