Abstract
1,205,375. Luminescent materials. TOKYO SHIBAURA ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. 3 Feb., 1969 [3 Feb., 1968], No. 5614/69. Heading C4S. A fluorescent lamp including mercury and an inert gas comprises on the inner wall of the envelope a first fluorescent layer including at least one of manganese activated magnesium fluorogermanate and manganese activated magnesium-arsenate and a second fluorescent layer including a mixture of at least one of blue emitting magnesium tungstate, calcium tungstate and antimony activated calcium halophosphate and at least one of orange emitting tin activated strontium, magnesium, barium orthophosphate, tin activated calcium strontium orthophosphate and calcium halophosphate activated with antimony and manganese. The layers are 21 Œ 5 and 9 Œ 5 microns respectively. The second layer mixture may satisfy the equations x = 3T/200 - 31, x + y = 100, where x Œ 10 and y Œ 10 are the vol. percentages of the blue and orange emitting phosphors respectively and T is the colour temperature in ‹K of the lamp between 3000 and 7000 e.g. 5000‹ K. Specific phosphor combinations are instanced.
