Abstract

1,205,210. Mixing in tortuous passages. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. 16 April, 1969, No. 19376/69. Heading B1C. [Also in Divisions B8 and F1] A dispenser 1 with an extrusion nozzle 4 and a plunger 15 contains a replaceable cartridge 7 with a mixing device 19 therein. The cartridge 7 receives sachets 9 and 10, formed by welding a pair of plastics films (10), Fig. 2 (not shown), containing respective components of an adhesive, e.g. a polysulphide adhesive. The plunger rod 14 is advanced by co-operation of notches (16), Fig. 4 (not shown), thereon with a detent mechanism and a spring- biased hand-lever (18) to compress the sachets 9, 10 and discharge the adhesive components through the device 19 to the nozzle 4. The device 19 may comprise a series of perforated plates (20), Fig. 5 (not shown), separated by spacers (22) or spaced by dishing and/or crinkling of the plates.
