Abstract

1,204,998. Steeplechase fences. D. STACK. 1 April, 1969 [4 April, 1968], No. 16878/69. Heading E1B. A steeplechase fence unit 1 comprises a base frame 3 having arcuate slide tracks 6 in which arcuate frame members 10 of upper frame unit 2 are slidable, when the resilient or bristle surface 7 of curved member 8 is struck by a horse's hoof, the upper pane being resiliently urged back to its initial position by springs 13 mounted between cross members 12 and 14. A complete fence comprises a number of units held side by side by parallel parallel rods of a ground engaging frame.
