Abstract

[Also in Division A4] A fibre nib and nib-holder are made by placing the fibre-nib in a mould for the holder and moulding the holder about the nib. During the moulding process some of the holder material, e.g. A.B.S. enters the interstices between the fibres on the surface of the nib and on setting makes a strong mechanical bond between the nib and the holder. The fibre-nib may be of bulked, twisted and kinked polyester filaments bonded with an epoxy resin.
